One of the most vulnerable rooms in your house is the kitchen. This is the main place that you prepare food for your family. Thus, it comes as no surprise that it is also the room, which will attract the most pests due to the constant supply of nourishment. This could become a health hazard to your family, as the pests can then contaminate the food that you are all ingesting. That is why it is pertinent to ensure that the kitchen is safe from any kinds of pests. So, how does one conduct pest control in the kitchen?

1.The first thing that you should do is to empty all your cabinets of food stuffs. This would mostly involve your dry foods such as flour, grains, and so on. While you are doing this, look out for any pest droppings or carcasses. If you come across any, ensure that cabinet is emptied fully before you can proceed.

2. The next step is to take out all the shelf paper that you have been using to line your cabinets. You will find that some pests, such as roaches, tend to hide underneath the shelf paper. By removing the shelf paper, you are ensuring you are doing a thorough search of your cabinets. Get new shelf paper to replace the old ones that you have taken out.

3.Ensure that any children or pets are away from the kitchen once you embark on the next step of pest control. When the kitchen is clear, get some insecticide and liberally spray it on all the cabinets that you have just emptied. Pay close attention to any cracks that may be in the cabinets or the walls.

4.Lastly, once the insecticide has dried, line the cabinets with new shelf paper. Return your food items after two or three days.
